The RCIP is designed to offer permanent residence to skilled workers who are interested in living and working in Canada’s rural and remote areas. A total of 14 communities were selected based on their ability to welcome and support newcomers. These communities work with approved local employers to fill labour shortages when no suitable local candidates are available.
